So I have received a few complaints on Gaia about my character being offensive, even though I changed him to be less stereotypical. I feel troubled over this, so I need your thoughts, dA watchers.
So first off, I want to explain all three of my gay characters that are in the story. Dave Hopkins does not seek for any relationship because he found happiness in nature and music. If you were to ask him if he was gay, he would confidently say, "No."
Next is Kent Dawson; He asks for permission for everything in the relationship and he only does this with people he's comfortable with.
Diego is a bit out-going and daring with his advances. As a thief, he does kiss them men he steals from if he gets caught just to be a mean guy (it's like tea-bagging in Halo).
So if Diego is more out-going and leaves that calling card as a thief, does that make him an offensive gay character?
Another question: Is it ok to have one "stereotypical" character as long as all similar characters are not like that?
Update: I finally came up with an idea that is bound to work. So instead of having Diego be that guy who would sexually harass people, he can be the guy who sadistically enjoy burning things like photographs. As for his flirty side, I'll have it restricted to the bedroom.
Does this work?
